Climatic Conditions of
the Plitvice Lakes
During the year, the
average sensation of agreeableness at Plitvice is changing
between cold and pleasant. It is cold from the beginning of
November to mid March, fresh from mid March to mid May and
from mid September to the end of October, while it is
pleasant in the warmest part of the year. However, the
sensation of agreeableness could considerably differ in
particular parts of the day from the average sensation of
agreeableness, same as the certain days could deviate from
the average ones.
For example, during the
day with a very high temperatures (over 30°C), and little
wind, mornings are pleasant, or rather warm, while it could
be hot or very hot in the afternoon hours. However the
majority of the summer days do not have such high air
temperatures and additional refreshing is coming from air
circulation which is more efficient at some lower
temperatures. In this kind of situation, the sensation of
agreeableness is less changing during the day. Temperature
is lower in the morning, but it is little windy too, and it
could be fresh. On the other side, temperature increases and
wind also becomes stronger and reinforces disappearance of
warmth from body surface, thus making possible cooling down,
so this kind of situation is either pleasant or warm, but
not hot. That is why the Plitvice Lakes are a very
convenient place to spend summer vacation at, particularly
for the individuals who can hardly bear hot summer weather
and for whom vacation at the sea would mean too heavy
thermal burden.
Spring and autumn are the
most convenient seasons for an active vacation walks and
sport activities. At that time, mornings and evenings are
mostly fresh, in early spring and late autumn also cold,
while during the day it is either pleasant or fresh.
Even if the average
sensation of agreeableness is cold in winter at the same
time winter days could considerably differ from each other.
In winter days with a little wind, daily changes in
temperature are followed by daily changes in sensation of
agreeableness. At the same time, mornings and evenings are
either cold or very cold, while it is usually cold during
the day. If the temperature does not change much, as it is
the case with the foggy days, and the sensation of
agreeableness does not express changes, it could be either
cold or very cold during the whole day. The coldest are days
with low temperature and strong wind. The daily changes in
sensation of agreeableness are considerably under the
influence of the circulation speed, so that in certain
situations it could be exceptionally cold. However, the
vacation at the Plitvice Lakes could be also pleasant in the
winter under the most adverse biometeorological conditions,
should the clothes be appropriate and the physical activity
increased.
