IMPORTANT SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION

SLIDE PREVIEW ROOM

• Slide Preview Room is located at the ground floor near the Main Conference Room.

• Please give your presentation CDROM (or USB stick) at least two hours before your presentation is scheduled. If it is possible please do this a day before.

POSTER EXHIBITION

• All posters are displayed at the Exhibition Hall for one day. Materials required to mount posters will be available. The maximum height of the poster display board is 2,0 m and the maximum width is 1,0 m.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER DISPLAY

• Posters for Poster Session on each day should be mounted at the latest till 10:00 AM left on the board till 20:00 PM.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS

• Presenting authors are asked to attend the Poster session and explain briefly the methods and results of the study in 3 minutes +2 minutes for questions from the audience.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORAL PRESENTATIONS

• Please give your presentation on CD ROM (or USB stick) in the Slide Preview Room at least two hours before or better the day before the term of the presentation. Speakers are requested to come to the meeting room at least 10 minutes before the start of the Session and identify themselves to the Chairpersons. Speakers have been allocated 10 minutes including discussion (2 minutes).

INSTRUCTION FOR CHAIRPERSONS

• Before the Session the Chairpersons have to check at the Registration Desk to see if there are no shows or last minute changes of the program.
• Chairpersons must be present in the room 10 minutes before the start of the Session to confirm the presentations.
• Chairpersons should instruct the presenters as to the time scheduled to the presentation.

Brigitte Potter Mael, amazing artist that fell in love with parasitology images, caught on her way back home  from Ghent to her atelier near Naples.  Ghent International Airport, August 24th 2007

ICT12 attendees will be privileged to enjoy woodcuts  that are authentic hand-pulled prints, printed from Brigittes  own hand-carved matrixes of wooden plates. Each print Brigitte created with prime quality Charbonnelleetching inks on museum quality “Armatruda” cotton rag paper from Amalfi.

Travelling Tips And Information

The transfer from the airport to the hotel in Zagreb as the hotel or other accommodation sites in Plitvice Lakes National Park is organized. The easily recognizable organizer staff will await for all registered participants that already sent arrival and departure data or will do that till September 15^th. The information can be simply sent to albert@vef.hr. The participants will be transferred by comfortable buses to the destination.

GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATION AT ICT12

Poster Presentation

The ideal poster size is 180 cm (length) x 80 cm (width). The poster should not exceed mentioned size.

The poster should should cover the KEY POINTS of the research work, and be able to (1) attract attention; (2) provide a brief overview of your work; and (3) initiate discussion and questions.
The title of your poster should appear at the top in CAPITAL letters about 1 inch or 25mm high. Below the title, put the author(s)' name(s) and affiliation(s).
The smallest text on your poster should be at least 3/8 inches or 9mm high, and the important points should be in a larger font size.

It pays to be well prepared. Make sure to bring all necessary materials you may need to repair the poster after travelling, such as transparent adhesive tape and an extra set of your poster papers. Do bring a good supply of your abstract copies to give to interested parties.
Make your poster presentation easy to read. Use color for highlighting and to make your poster more attractive. Use pictures, diagrams, cartoons, figures, etc., rather than only text wherever possible.

Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible. This will save your time to use for discussions and questions.

Prepare also a short Power Point Presentation (three minutes). Please bring extra copies of your abstract to hand out if requested during the poster session.

Oral presentation

Oral presentation should not exceed 12 minutes including 2 minutes for discussion. All conference rooms are equipped with a data projector and computer. All presenters are also welcome to use the Preview Room that is near the Main Conference Room.

The XII International Conference on Trichinellosis (ICT12) will be held in National park Plitvice Lakes, Croatia beginning with a cocktail reception on Tuesday, September 25^th and ending at 12 am on Sunday, September 30^th 2007. Opening ceremony and opening lectures will be held at the Hotel Jezero. Sessions, wet labs and workshops will be held in the National park Plitvice Lakes.

Who should attend?

We encourage research scientists interested in the biology, clinics and diagnostics of trichinellosis infections in companion animals as well as veterinary practitioners and physicians who are interested in the practical view of the diagnostics, treatment and control of the disease.
